MAINSTREAM MEDIA ATTACKS Marco Rubio for sharing Bible verses on Twitter

Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) is a vocal Christian who often discusses the role of faith in his life and political work. It is one of the reasons why he has been one of the GOP’s leaders in fighting abortion, religious freedom, and even the communist regime in Cuba.

Now, that faith is being openly attacked by members of the mainstream media.

This morning, Rubio continued his usual routine of tweeting out Bible verses. Here is the first tweet.

“Peace I leave with you;my peace I give you.Not as the world gives do I give to you.Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.”John 14:27

He also tweeted this.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do & your plans will succeed. The Lord works out everything for his own ends…..”

That seemed to trigger a number of liberals, including Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post.

Peter Hasson of The Daily Caller reports.

Leah Mcelrath, a writer left-wing activist organization ShareBlue, shared screenshots of the tweets, which she called “unsettling.” (It’s unclear why she thought the Bible verses were unsettling.)

Rubin, a Never Trump Republican, agreed with Mcelrath’s sentiment, saying that Rubio either “was hacked or he’s totally lost it”— the implication being that only a crazy person would share Bible verses with their Twitter followers.

Here are the tweets.

After Rubin was called out on her bigotry, she doubled down. She then referred to Rubio as a “high school prom king.”

@MarcACaputo@leahmcelrath@marcorubio Totally tone deaf. Like the high school prom king got swapped with the real senator from an important state

Sen. Rubio has yet to respond to the attacks.
